Ride some of the most beautiful roads with beautiful sceneries, and stop to taste delicious local food, and wine at night once the Vespas are parked. The route is fully guided and includes boutique B&B accommodation, meals, coffee breaks, fuel, tolls, one vineyard experience, one wine tasting experience and photos, so guests can simply enjoy the ride and flavours. With a small-group format of maximum 6 guests, the experience is personal, relaxed and premium, perfect for couples, friends, food lovers and travellers looking for a memorable Cape escape without rushing from place to place.

Detailed Time Itinerary

Day 1 — From Cape Town to Franschhoek via , Table Mountain View & Stellenbosch: a Foodie’s journey by Vespa

8:30 AM — Arrival at Cape Vespa Rentals, Cape Town

Meet your guides over coffee in the colourful heart of Cape Town.

Welcome coffee, introductions, safety briefing and Vespa familiarisation.

9:15 AM — Departure from Bo-Kaap

Ride through the city along the Atlantic coastline.

9:50 AM — Blouberg signature thermos moment with the iconic view on Cape Town & Table Mountain

Pause at the iconic Table Mountain viewpoint in Blouberg Beach and enjoy a signature thermos moment with coffee or rooibos and some local snacks while taking in the famous postcard view.

10:30 AM — Departure towards the Winelands

Ride away from the coast and towards the vineyards, mountains and historic towns of the Cape Winelands.

11:45 AM — Arrival in Stellenbosch

Park the Vespas and enjoy a short guided historical walk through one of South Africa’s most historic towns lined with oak trees and dotted with Cape Dutch architecture. Pop in one of its most iconic stores, and get introduced to the region’s wine heritage.

12:45 PM — Departure from Stellenbosch

Continue riding through wine estates, mountain scenery and rolling vineyards towards Franschhoek.

1:15 PM — Boschendal estate lunch

Settle in for a relaxed estate lunch in one of the Cape’s most authentic and historical vineyards. Marvel at the Cape Dutch architecture of the estate, and enjoy an art exhibition, stroll the estate. This is a slow-food moment: seasonal ingredients, farm atmosphere, mountain views and time to enjoy the estate without rushing.

3:15 PM — Departure towards Franschhoek

Picturesque Franschhoek with its dramatic mountain scenery lies a short ride away.

3:30 PM — Arrival in Franschhoek

Visit the Huguenot Museum with your guides and understand how the wine industry developed in South Africa. Check in your accommodation, and stroll Franschhoek with its art galleries.

4:15 PM — Franschhoek moments

Discover why Franschhoek is considered one of South Africa’s culinary capitals. Relax at your accommodation, wander through town or simply take in the slower rhythm of the valley before dinner with wine pairing.

7:30 PM — Dinner in Franschhoek

Dinner with wine pairing is included as part of this foodie experience.

Optional dinner upgrade — Chefs Warehouse at Maison

For guests who want to elevate the evening, dinner can be upgraded to Chefs Warehouse at Maison. Advanced booking required. Drinks, paired wines and tips are not included in the upgrade.

Day 2 — Paarl, Wellington vineyards & the Atlantic return

8:00 AM — Breakfast at the boutique B&B

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before the second day’s ride.

9:00 AM — Departure from Franschhoek

Leave the valley and ride through beautiful wine country towards Simondium.

9:30 AM — Paarl architecture discovery

Enjoy a short stop in Paarl, one of the Cape’s oldest towns, known for its architecture, heritage buildings and Paarl Rock backdrop.

Optional alternative — Paarl Rock

For guests wanting a more outdoorsy stop, the Paarl visit can be replaced by an optional Paarl Rock hike, depending on timing, weather and group preference. Expect sweeping views over the valley from the top of this iconic rock.

11:30 AM — Departure towards Wellington

Ride deeper into the agricultural heart of the Cape, passing vineyards, farm roads and mountain scenery.

12:15 PM — Wellington lunch in the vineyard

A relaxed and simple vineyard lunch in the Wellington area, with time to enjoy the slower, less crowded side of the Winelands.

1:45 PM to 3:00 PM — Ride from Wellington to Melkbosstrand

Begin the return journey, riding through open countryside and small settlements towards the West Coast side of Cape Town.

3:00 PM to 3:30 PM — Melkbosstrand & Table Mountain view

Stroll along the beach for a short while with another magnificent view of Table Mountain across the bay to appreciate the contrast between vineyards, mountains and ocean.

3:30 PM to 4:30 PM — Final ride back to Cape Town

Return along the coast towards the city, and return the Vespas, say goodbye to your guides.
